PROP WASH GANG 2020 REUNION

NOTICE! As of April 2020, This Year's Reunion is CANCELLED

Neenah, Wisconsin, July 9 - 11 2020

Welcome to the Prop Wash Gang Reunion Site.

General:   Our 2020 Prop Wash Gang Reunion will once again be held in Neenah, Wisconsin, from Thursday, 9 July through Saturday, 11 July, with checkout on Sunday, 12 July. Our esteemed brother and PWG Treasurer Ron Hentz will be our host. As we did in 2011, we will stay at Bridgewood Best Western Premier in Neehah. The Bridgewood is holding 20 rooms for us: King and two double-bed rooms are available upon request. Early arrival is permitted. Reference the Prop Wash Gang when you make your reservation to get these rates. Phone the Bridgewood at (920) 720-8000 to make reservations.

Rooms & Rates:   Room rates for Prop Wash Gang at the Bridgewood are $119 plus tax, with $10 added for each additional person in the room; i.e., $129 for two, etc. We have 20 rooms on hold, either King or Two Double-bed. Phone (920) 720-8000 for reservations and reference the Prop Wash Gang.

Transportation:   Bridgewood provides free shuttle service to/from the Appleton airport (ATW), if you provide them with your flight information in advance. There are several car rental agencies at ATW, if you choose. United, American, Delta and Allegiant Airlines all serve ATW. Milwaukee (MKE), an hour and a half by car from Neenah, is the nearest Southwest destination.

Lodging Reservations:   Late departures might be available on a limited basis. The Bridgewood advises that everyone make their reservations as soon as possible, as the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) AirVenture Fly-in starts on 20 July until the 26th. Due to the complexity of the operation and the need for briefings and area orientation, the ATC controllers will arrive and begin to fill most rooms at Bridgewood on 12 July. Early fly-in attendees will probably fill the remaining rooms. For those who may not know, during the fly-in Oshkosh is the world's busiest airport. There will be anywhere from 10-14,000 airplanes on the grounds during that week. It's quite a sight to see two or three planes in trail as they land, with only a couple hundred yards of separation as they roll down the runway. Only the best of the ATC are chosen for this assignment, so it's quite an honor to be selected.

Banquet:   Our banquet will be held on Saturday, 11 July, at the Bridgewood. Meal planning and prices are still TBD. We are also looking for a guest speaker for the evening.

Field Trip:   For those who might be interested, Ron will again try to arrange tours of Lambeau Field in Green Bay and the EAA Air Museum in Oshkosh. This is also an excellent time of the year for the sportfishers to try their hand at salmon and trout fishing on Lake Michigan. Ron can also arrange charter trips for anyone who'd be interested, but please don't wait until the last moment to make a request, as these trips fill up fast. Prices vary depending on the number in your party, so a group of 3-5 is ideal. For the shoppers, the Fox River Mall in Appleton is the number one tourist destination in northeast Wisconsin. While there, you might even run into a Green Bay Packer or two shopping with their families.

Note:   As we get closer to the reunion dates, Ron will be asking for your money for the banquet and any donation that you wish to make toward hospitality room expenses. We will be allowed to stock the hospitality room on our own. So, please circle the dates 9-11 July on your new 2020 calendars and make those hotel reservations as soon as possible.

If you plan to attend, please email Lonnie Henderson with number of attendees for banquet, departure and arrival dates and a contact phone number.

List of attendees: Click here for a list of those planning to attend.

We look forward to seeing you in Neehah, Wisconsin, between 9 and 12 July 2020. Y'all come, ya hear!
